The weekend of 21-23 June, 2013, saw Ottawa host the Korean War Veterans Weekend and commemorated the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. Many events were held including:
- Launch of new exhibit at the Canadian War Museum (Korea 60 – first two gallery photos)
- Dinner Gala at the Canadian War Musueum (gallery photos 3 – 7)
- 7th Book of Remembrance (gallery photos 8-10)
- Governor-General’s Reception (gallery photos 11-14)
- Remembrance Ceremony (gallery photos 15-21)
Friends were remembered, friends were honoured, friends were still grieved for. There are too many stories I heard on the weekend for a quick blog but listening to the experiences of these gentlemen makes me realize how safe my 21 years in the military were.
