Today, to start of a week of remembrance, the Senate of Canada held its’ Remembrance Ceremony in the Senate Chamber. The main speakers were the Speaker of the House (Andrew Scheer), the Speaker of the Senate (Noel Kinsella) and the Minister of Veterans Affairs (Julian Fantino). A wreath of remembrance was laid in front of a replica of the St. Julien Memorial which was at the front of the Senate by the three primary speakers. In paying tribute to the armed forces, both past, present, and fallen, Speaker Kinsella said “This is a time to honour the men and women who stood in harm’s way to defend our nation, its principles and values, and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
