Today we covered the National Peacekeepers' Day Ceremony held at the Reconciliation Monument in Ottawa. Today those Canadians who lost their lives in the cause of peace while serving with United Nations and other peace support operations are honoured and remembered.
It was also a time to celebrate 25 years of police forces also being actively involved in the peacekeeping missions, sharing every danger that up until that time was exclusively taken by the military, As such, the ceremony was very much oriented towards the RCMP, and other police forces.
