On Saturday evening, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum was all abuzz, but not with aircraft. Saturday evening the Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion Design was having a fashion show and using the Museum as the stage. The evening was sold out with approximately 600 people in attendance to see some of the past fashions of Richard Robinson and then the fashions of the students.
The evening began with the Robinson’s grandchildren showing fashions for the smaller set and then the audience was treated to a retrospective of Richard Robinson designs from the past. After this show, it was time for the students to show what they had learned and it started off with the first year students followed by the 21 students graduating this year. There was also a show of bustier and costumes designed by the students and then it was time for the awards for top model, top first year designer, Couturier of the Year, Designer of the Year, and other awards. All in all, the show ran for about 2 1/2 hours and was enjoyed by the audience and the participants.
