The annual Candlelight and Tree Lighting Ceremony took place at Beechwood Cemetery on the 13th of December and was a well attended event despite the fact that we got rain instead of snow. The ceremony was short, with inspiration provided by three religious leaders and a choir but the tree lighting is, to me, the highlight of the evening, after which people place ornaments on the large tree in remembrance of loved ones and those who have died in the past year.
While these pictures have not included any of the ceremony itself, I think they represent the effort put in by the Cemetery to make it more than just a place for burials.
