Today I had the pleasure of photographing 10 women who were nominated by their peers “…as recognition of the contributions made by these individuals across the broad spectrum of professions related to Canada’s proud military.”. These 10 from the Ottawa area represented a total of 21 so nominated this year and profiled in this months Esprit de Corps magazine. Esprit de Corps hosted a luncheon for the ladies at the Canadian War Museum and then presented them with plaques for their achievements and recognition within their spheres of influence.
The Canadian War Museum currently has an exhibit, World War Women, highlighting the contributions of women to the war effort and the sacrifices they made when losing husbands and sons. It’s worth a visit just to read some of the letters home. Given the nature of our event, it seemed appropriate that these ladies should have their pictures taken here.
Bravo Zulu to all. Pictures of the group and plaque presentations are HERE
