The Canada Aviation and Space Museum was host to the 2nd Happy Hearts Fundraiser for CHEO and the CHEO Research Institute to help sick children. This event was organized by 9 year old Noémie Pound who wanted to raise the over $15,000 by way of a silent auction and children’s fashion show and successfully raised over $14,000 on her first event in Oct. 2014. The event was a night of fun for kids as there were various stations to get nails and make-up done, photographs taken, as well as visits from superheros, princesses, and Star Wars characters along with the CHEO bear and friends. For the adults, there was the silent auction items to bid on and then the children’s fashion show MC’d by Boom 99.7’s Dylan Black. The models for the show were drawn from young people in the community as well as CHEO patients. All in all the night seemed successful although a full accounting was not completed by the closing of the show.
