This is a photo of Air Canada Captain (ret’d) Bob Pearson who rose to fame when he landed a Boeing 767-233 airliner, which had lost power to both engines, in Gimli, Manitoba, on 23 July, 1983. There was no loss of life during the landing and the incident has become known as the Gimli Glider….
